What Should You Do If You Skip Or Miss A Birth Control Pill?

Even if you are around 12 hours late in taking your birth control pill, then the chances of you getting pregnant increase. Each birth control pill packet contains 21 pills and if you forget any one of it to take, then you must be prepared to use some other birth control methods such as condoms for a time of 7 days.

If less than 24 hours have passed away after you forget to take birth control pills, then take that pill immediately and resume with your normal schedule. If you forgot to take pills on the previous day, then take two pills on the next day at the same time. But don’t ever take more that 2 pills in one day unless prescribed by the doctor. If you forget to take birth control pill during your third week of course, then finish all the contraceptive pills in your pack and the remaining 7 pills must be skipped. Most of the birth control pills come in 21 day package or 28 day package.

Depending on the instruction mentioned on the package you have to take pills for 21 days, one on each day and for the remaining 7 days you have to stop taking pill or take pills which does not contain any hormone.
